EXTRA PRACTISE - Pronunciation of regular verbs in the past

As you know, the pronunciation of regular verbs in the past is a bit tricky. But don't worry! We just need to pay some extra attention to the things we listen to and we will be able to pronounce correctly in no time 😉

Here we have some songs that might help.

The first one is Maniac by Conan Gray. Listen to it and read the lyrics (this is just the first part of the song). Pay attention to the pronunciation of the highlighted verbs.

You were with your friends partying
When the alcohol kicked in
Said you wanted me dead
So, you show up at my home, all alone
With a shovel and a rose
Do you think I'm a joke? 'Cause
People like you always want back what they can't have
But I'm past that and you know that
So you should turn back to your rat pack, tell 'em I'm trash
Tell all of your friends that I'm crazy and drive you mad
That I'm such a stalker, a watcher, a psychopath
And tell them you hate me and dated me just for laughs
So, why do you call me and tell me you want me back?
You maniac

The next song is "A day in the life" by The Beatles(again, this is just a fragment). Pay attention to the highlighted verbs.

(Start listening from 2:15)

Woke up, fell out of bed
Dragged a comb across my head
Found my way downstairs and drank a cup
And looking up, I noticed I was late
Found my coat and grabbed my hat
Made the bus in seconds flat
Found my way upstairs and had a smoke
And somebody spoke and I went into a dream

REMEMBER! Songs can help us but since the most important thing is the music, some things can be said in a different way.
