Hello! Today we are going to focus on time expressions and grammar. There are many ways to talk about the past and different prepositions to use in each case. We will discuss the use of on, in, at and  ago.  Another important thing to keep in mind is the use of ordinal numbers to say the date. Keep this in mind and complete the following sentences with true information about yourself: The last exam I took was… The last time I stayed up late was… The last time I lost something important was… The last wedding/party I went to was… The last time I went for a run/walk/swim was… The last time I went to a restaurant/coffee shop was… The last time I sang/danced was… The last cup of tea/coffee I had was… The last long journey I went on was… Write down your answers and send them to me via WhatsApp. Finally, we started to talk about feelings: You can listen to the audios here  and  here .

EXTRA PRACTISE - Pronunciation of regular verbs in the past

Imagen
As you know, the pronunciation of regular verbs in the past is a bit tricky. But don't worry! We just need to pay some extra attention to the things we listen to and we will be able to pronounce correctly in no time 😉 Here we have some songs that might help.  The first one is Maniac by Conan Gray. Listen to it and read the lyrics ( this is just the first part of the song ). Pay attention to the pronunciation of the highlighted verbs.                                                        You were with your friends partying When the alcohol kicked in Said you wanted me dead So, you show up at my home, all alone With a shovel and a rose Do you think I'm a joke? 'Cause People like you always want back what they can't have But I'm past that and you know that So you should turn back to your rat pack, tell 'em I'm trash Tell all of your friends that I'm crazy and drive you mad That I'm such a stalker, a watcher, a psychopath And tell them you hate me and

Hello! Today we'll work on a short story about a man who goes on a holiday and meets a girl. Sparks fly and it's a love-at-first-sight story. But everything comes to an end when he has to go back home! All of this is narrated in a song called "In only seven days" by Queen. Listen to the song, read the lyrics and work on the activities!   You can download the worksheet  here Here are some notes we took during the lesson:

LESSON 5 - April 3rd

Today we'll start the lesson talking about culture and important firsts around the world. Let's answer the quiz that we completed last week and see how much we know or how much we can guess 😅. After that, let's focus on pronunciation of regular verbs. I know! This is a complicated topic and it feels overwhelming, but the more we start to listen and pay attention to these details, the faster we'll learn and the more natural we'll sound!  Then, we'll finish with a game of two truths and one lie, or in this case, three truths and two lies.  You can download everything  here See you next time!
