LESSON 20 - August 22nd

  Welcome to a new unit! Do you think there is a right job for every person? What qualifications do we need for certain careers? Do you know anyone with an unusual job? Let's listen to Mayo's interview and work on the activities.  Audio 1:  listen Audio 2:  listen Let's take a closer look at some expressions that Mayo used. Answers: "Have to" means that something is necessary. You have to be very enthusiastic. "Can" means that you are able to do something. If you want to, you can stay later in the evenings. "Don't have to" means that something is not necessary. You don't have to have any special qualifications. "Can't" means that you are not able to do something. There are a lot of Spanish people, but I can't speak Spanish. Let's practice! These are the answers to activity number 2:

  Nowadays, we don't usually ask people for directions. Instead, we use apps like Google Maps. These apps give us directions. What does it look like? Let me show you how to go from my house to the park according to Google Maps. These are real screenshots! Now look at the following set of directions. Can you complete the gaps? Here is some extra practice. Now it's your turn! Take a screenshot and write the directions from your house to a place in your neighborhood. Submit your homework through Whatsapp.

 Do you like visiting your friends? I'm sure you do! Today we will listen to two friends, Joel and Andy. Joel is going to visit Andy at his cottage, but he doesn't know how to get there.  Listen to Andy's directions  and mark the route on the map, then complete with the missing words. Joel tried to follow Andy's directions, but something went wrong! Listen to their conversation  and complete the story.  FOR NEXT MONDAY: Prepare a map of your neighbourhood to share and give directions to get to your favourite spot!

  Hello! Welcome to Unit 3: Exploring the city.  There are many cool places to visit in Buenos Aires City: museums, squares, theaters and more. Do you know the ones in the pictures? Now what is it that makes a city different from a town? And what is the difference between a town and a village? Look at the pictures and match them to the names on the lists.
